Fiadhta

£5.50

Meaning wild or fierce in Scottish Gaelic, Fiadhta features a twisted rib and lace pattern with which reminds me of owls, stags and crashing waves. On the foot, the pattern runs up the edge of the instep, then after the heel, the pattern is mirrored on the leg. Knit from the toe up with a gusset and heel flap, these socks are a great mix of relaxing knit and engaging pattern – perfect for travel knitting or chilling with a film!

The pattern is fully written with charts for the lace and twisted rib and has been tech edited and test knitted. There’s a screenshot of the pattern, and a list of the stitches used at the bottom of the photos. You will also need to know how to do a double sided cast-on like Judy’s Magic Cast-On and a stretchy bind-off like Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off.
