I enjoyed knitting Rinlet, my first DK cowlette, so much I couldn’t wait to knit another one and the tail end of winter seemed like the perfect time to fit one in. The weather here has been cooperating too as we keep getting a hint of spring before the temperatures drop again, so I’ve appreciated the extra warmth!
I’ve been waiting ages for the perfect opportunity to use the slipped stitch pattern. I’ve loved it for ages, but it needs the right gauge to look its best so it took a while to find the perfect project for it! I paired it with this gorgeous mesh lace that you’ve probably seen me use before. I love how the passed over stitches continue the horizontal line of the slipped stitches through to the edge of the cowlette.
The name Whitterick is a Scots word for a curlew. They’re really pretty wading birds with long, slightly curved beaks.
You can get 25% off Whitterick with the code CurlewSale until 11.59 pm (UTC) on the 26th of March 2024. The pattern is also on LoveCrafts and Etsy!
